Horizontal lines, slightly sloping roofs with large overhangs, special detailing and the use of sustainable materials create a stylish look.
Spica Estate is located next to The Dutch golf course in the Gelderland village of Spijk. The beautifully situated estate covers almost eleven hectares, is stylishly decorated and is characterized by a stately driveway and a large water feature. In the middle of this water feature is an island, on which an exclusive residential complex has been realized: Spica Staete.
The inspiration for the design of Spica Staete was derived from Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House. Important architectural features are strong horizontal lines in the construction, open floor plans, and abstract and cubic shapes. Large roof overhangs and wide, deep balconies emphasize this horizontality. The brick balconies and contrasting cover bands accentuate this even more. The whole thing fits beautifully into the landscape.
The country house contains six very luxurious apartments, six guest suites, and a staff house, grouped around a central hall. The relaxation rooms are located in the adjacent 'coach house', including a swimming pool, a fitness room, a sauna and a hammam – all the ingredients for 'wellness' are present.
All apartments have one or more spacious terraces, which are oriented as favourably as possible on the view and the sun. The terraces are accessible from different rooms through large French doors. A wide view and always green in sight makes these apartments extra attractive; nature and greenery around you gives peace and is healthy.
Each apartment is connected to a guest suite, which is furnished as an independent studio. Apartment and guest suite are on one level, spacious and equipped with home automation, so that they can also be made age-friendly. Provisions can be easily connected for any necessary care.
The use of high-quality, sustainable materials ensures that the appearance of Spica Staete blends in beautifully with the surroundings. Brick facades complemented with concrete and natural stone and beautiful wooden frames. The roof of the apartment building, on which beautiful clay tiles are laid, has a slight roof slope, which further enhances the horizontality.
A unique building in a unique location, centrally located in space and greenery, gives a feeling of security and safety. The refined detailing completes the picture of luxury and quality that makes Spica Estate so special.
