Winner 3rd Revit Battle announced

University graduates battle for a six months employment at EGM

From 2 until 6 June 2014, the third Revit Battle was held in the offices of EGM architecten in Dordrecht. The battle involved seven TU graduates. On Friday, 6 June, the winner was announced. Marieke de Graauw, winner of the third edition, won a six month’s employment contract with EGM architecten.

The Revit Battle

During a four-day training, candidates learn the ropes of 3D modeling with the Autodesk Revit program. On the last day all candidates participated in the battle, where they were judged on Revit knowledge, architectural insight and speed. All participants received a certificate of participation, an EGM Revit certificate. The winner wins a six-month contract with EGM architects.

Revit battle draws attention to BIM

Despite the importance of preventing construction errors and working as efficiently as possible, EGM architecten believes BIM is not always applied in the right way. EGM feels that universities and HBO-schools still lack solid education in BIM and sees it as its social responsibility to make young talent aware of the potential of BIM and prepare them for the future.

EGM and BIM

EGM architecten believes BIM is an important communication tool in the design, implementation and maintenance process of a building. Since 2008, EGM uses Revit software. Especially the clear filing of complex information offers huge benefits. Today, all new projects start with BIM. EGM developed its own working methods and protocols to facilitate a smooth cooperation with other parties in the construction team.
