Bridge connecting JBZ and Verbeeten Institute

Start construction gangway between Jeroen Bosch Hospital and Verbeeten Institute

With a festive first scoop of sand the construction of the new bridge between Jeroen Bosch Hospital and Verbeeten Institute was officially launched on 9 September 2013.

Transparent

Like all other bridges and connections in the two buildings, this bridge also has a transparent character. Because the bridge is located on the south side and has aconsiderable length, the impact on the indoor climate by the sun would have been huge. Therefore a choice was madeto create a closed facade on the sunny side, which revealed thepossibility to create a fine art gallery. On the opposite site, large windows offer panoramic views over the beautiful scenery of nature reserve The Gement.

Connect and collaborate

Mr. Peter Langenbach of Jeroen Bosch Hospital and Mr. Gerard Tijmes of Verbeeten Institute revealed a plaque commemorating the start of the new connective bridge. In a way, the bridge symbolizes the ever-closer cooperation of the two organisations in the field of Oncology.

The bridge is expected to be completed in January 2014.
