The A15 Pharmacy was 'Highly Commended' for 'Best International Design' at the Building Better Healthcare Awards (BBHA) 2014. The jury praised the remarkable industrial project in which extensive use of glass and a skillful planning have resulted in an elegant building with comfortable workspace. Quite unusual in a sector where adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP) too often drive design away from human issues.
The Pharmacy is designed with an important role for safety and well-beingof the staff in mind, therefore realizing the first steps in the future landscape of its field. This is found in box-in-box design: a corridor is surrounding the cleanrooms which provides a clear view on the production process without actually entering the rooms. Extensive use of glass, wide corridors and broad views provide orientation and stimulate communication and inter action between employees.
This award is granted annually by 'Building Better Healthcare', facilitator of a highly appreciated information portal. Every yearthe most innovative creations and improvements in architecture, medical equipment andstaff are judged by a professional jury.It is a prestigious event in which more than 500 healthcare organization take part.
