"This is my waiting room of death," is what an 87-year-old man told me a few years ago. We were sitting in an old, musty, and dark nursing home of which this man was one of the residents. That was the moment I realized that through my profession, I want to contribute to the health, happiness, and quality of life, even for the most vulnerable people in our society.
My driving force in all my projects is to remain curious about the users from my role as an investigative architect and to incorporate their wishes and needs into the design process. I believe that the built environment can consciously or unconsciously make a positive contribution to the quality of all our lives.
