Erasmus MC is developing a campus. The campus will be a lively place where healthcare, technology and entrepreneurship will converge and find space in (new) buildings. EGM architects advises on several aspects.
On the future campus, healthcare organisations, innovative companies in the field of health and technology, educational and research institutions will work together to put the latest technological developments into practice. Master Plan 2050, which took shape under the direction of Diederendirrix, was recently adopted by the Rotterdam Municipal Executive, thus entering the next phase.
EGM has been working for quite some time on the planning around the medical centre. Programmatic adaptations in terms of function, location, interweaving with the existing and new buildings, integration with greenery and creating the right experience are all focus areas. Another part of the master plan is that the urban dynamics of Erasmus MC will connect even better with the surrounding residential areas, the park and public transport.
Erasmus MC will realise the campus in phases, with new construction scheduled to start in 2024. The area along the 's Gravendijkwal will be the first to be developed. EGM, together with several care partners, has already taken the first (design) steps towards appropriate housing on the campus.
