Healthcare in China offers opportunities for Dutch companies. Task Force Health Care signs PIB-China

On Monday 3 Februari 2014 the Dutch Government and 16 Dutch companies signed another ‘Partners for International Business’ (PIB) agreement for which the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (former NL Agency) (RVO) and Task Force Health Care got together. Dutch Health Architects was one of the companies that wants to improve their changes on the Chinese healthcare market.

China is facing enormous challenges in their healthcare system. Because of the one-child-policy and the aging of citizens, the demand for good elderlycare is huge. Also rehabilitation care and the extension of the care capacity is on the Chinese agenda. Thijs Teeling, Chairman of Task Force Health Care: “According to independent reports, the Dutch healthcare system is the best in the world. The Netherlands have a lot to offer in the field of Life Sciences & Health. This reputation creates chances for Dutch companies and knowledge institutions.

 

When companies, institutions, hospitals and the Dutch Governement join forces, this will increase the export to China and will strenghthen our economic relationship.

 

About Task Force Health Care

Task Force Health Care is an independent export platform. It stimulates cooperation among organizations within the Dutch life sciences & health sector, liaised with FME-CWM. By signing the PIB China and by working together with the RVO, various activities such as trade missions, exhibitions and seminar can be organized in China. The PIB China was signed by 16 companies, organizations, knowledge institutions and hospitals: Avans Hogeschool/Avans+, Bonum, Cubigo, Dutch Health Architects, Enraf-Nonius, Erasmus MC, Ewac Medical, Maastricht Health Campus, Motek Medical, Nederlandse Vereniging van Ziekenhuizen, Philips Medical, Qserve Group, Royal Haskoning DHV, Simed International, VitalHealth Software, and Wittenburg.


Partners for International Business

By offering the Partners for International Business (PIB) agreement, the Dutch Government wishes to close a partnership with Dutch business. This program focuses on groups of companies, possibly supplemented by knowledge institutions, that wish to enter foreign markets together. This is a coordinated strategy, instead of individual driven activities.
The Government can take away any hesitation for trade or investment by using economic diplomacy. This enhances the changes for Dutch entrepreneurs.

 

PIB is focused on Dutch companies in the top sectors (Energy, Life Sciences & Health, Creative Industry, Water, Agrofood, Horticulture and Starting Materials, High Tech Systems and Materials (i.e. aerospace), Logistics and Chemicals) and on internationalization strategies that focus on specific countries (Focus countries). In December 2012 a PIB for Russia was signed.
